HP wins industry awards with PageWide C500 top feeder enhancements

Hewlett-Packard recently introduced an enhanced paper feed system for its PageWide C500 Press, which is said to help accelerate the growth of the digital corrugated paper market by increasing productivity and reducing costs.
Based on HP Thermal Inkjet technology, HP PageWide C500 can provide offset printing quality for a variety of corrugated packaging and display applications of coated and uncoated paper, and is suitable for low to high conversion rates for lithographic and flexographic operations. According to reports, it reduces the cost of manufacturing boxes and provides the company with digital flexibility.
According to the company, the new top paper feed system supports a wider range of papers, including thin and micro grooves, while maintaining a smooth paper feed process and fast job switching. It aims to increase operating profit and reduce waste for processors.
In addition, paper feed enhancements include stack topography alignment technology, which can significantly compensate for uneven or warped stacks, and dynamic stack alignment technology to correct vertical misaligned stacks.
The new system also features intelligent automatic recovery technology, which HP claims can identify and solve paper feed problems related to poor stacking or paper damage, thereby eliminating the need for manual operator intervention.
PRINTING United Alliance won the 2021 Pinnacle InterTech Award in recognition of the C500′s top paper feeder innovation. The system also won the second place in the AICC/BCN/CT mechanical category annual innovator competition held by SuperCorrExpo.
In 2019, HP water-based corrugated packaging printed on the HP PageWide series was recognized by Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) as easily recyclable using standard industry recycling technologies. According to HP, the same series has also received UL ECOLOGO certification to meet sustainability standards for printing inks-this is the first digital corrugated paper printing solution to receive this certification.
